VarTech's Class 1, Division 1, Groups C, D, and B industrial explosion proof workstations and LCD computers, use a Type X purge system (Groups C and D use the automatic purge while Group B uses the standard purge system)which operates by forcing air or an inert gas through the enclosure until all of the hazardous gas is removed (purging). After purging, constant pressure is maintained within the enclosure & equipment inside the enclosure is energized.

X Type Purge System for Class 1, Div 1, Groups C & D Enclosures

This system is for use in Class I, Division 1, Groups C, D, and B (Groups C and D use the automatic purge while Group B uses the standard purge system). It includes an electrical power control unit (EPCU) that monitors system operation and controls enclosure power. All start-up requirements must be satisfied before the EPCU will energize power to the enclosure(s).
