VarTech has recently released its latest series of Fully-Submersible, Sunlight Readable, Ultra-Rugged IP68 (NEMA 6P), All-Weather, All-Terrain LCD displays. Engineered from top to bottom solely by VarTech’s extensive engineering team and assembled exclusively at its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Horsham, Pennsylvania, this new series brings tremendous technological innovation to the rugged LCD marketplace.

VarTech offers NEMA 6P All-Weather LCDs ranging in size from 8.4", 10.4", 12.1", to 15.0". These LCDs have high brightness levels from 900 to 1400 nits of true luminance using VarTech’s cutting-edge LED backlighting technology and ELTT. This technology is far superior to other solutions which incorporate Transflective filters. In addition, VarTech’s new LED technology increases operational temperature range capabilities, significantly lowers power draw when compared to that of traditional CCFL backlighting, has superior shock and vibration protection, greatly improved advanced deep dimming to black, virtually instant warm-up, little or no electromagnetic interference, and a 200% average increase in MTBF operation compared to CCFL. Combined with VarTech's VBOND optical bonding and VarTech’s ELTT technology these displays achieve the best true sunlight readability throughout the rugged display monitor marketplace today.

VarTech's All-Weather LCD series offers Armor Touch, a new ultra-rugged resistive touch screen technology, delivering superior impact resistance, contamination resistance, image clarity, and very good light transmission levels. This truly rugged harsh duty LCD series is designed to meet MIL-STD-901D (shock), MIL-STD-167 (vibration), MIL-STD-810F (environmental), Marine IEC 60529 and Marine IEC 60945, and EMI/EMC: FCC Class B with optional MIL-STD-461F. The VarTech All-Weather series also offers NVIS (Full Night Vision) designed to meet MIL-STD-3009 Class B Gen 3.

VarTech Systems has recently purchased a new Trumpf Laser Cutting Machine for high volume metal enclosure and chassis production for its metal fabrication facility in Clemmons, NC. This precision cutting machine provides a wide working range and an open design keeping the machine process in full view. It provides smooth finished edges eliminating the need for rework. This cuts VarTech's production cost, ultimately reducing the cost for our customers.

The Trumpf Laser Cutting machine efficiency level is second to none. It saves maintenance costs and gas consumption through its superior excitation process. It has an integrated loader and unloader with pallet changer reducing high volume processing time. For VarTech's NEMA 4X stainless steel construction computers and displays the Trumpf Laser Cutter has a special oxide-free, no burring edges feature specifically designed for cutting stainless steel.

VarTech's 2008 trade show season continued with ATX South / South Pack which was held in Charolette, NC, March 19-20. On display were many of VarTech's fully enclosed LCD display systems and computer workstations including the newly designed VESA mount NEMA 4X all-in-one model and Vartech's new line of NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X panel PCs.

VarTech's representatives met allot of wonderful people, many of whom were very interested in implementing our products in their facilities. The South Pack coordinators were great and we look forward to next year as well as East Pack coming up June 3-5, 2008 where VarTech will be able to display the newly designed XA All-Weather series of ultra rugged, submersible, sunlight readable LCDs.
