VarTech released two new fanless small form factor computers this month: the SuperCube and the UltraCube

VarTech's new SuperCube form factor mini computer is an extremely compact system. Its small size and fanless design make it extremely versitile in regards to mobility and mounting options. It has an ultra efficient fanless 1.0GHz processor, 1GB of system memory, and a 120GB hard disk. For better shock and vibration protection the SuperCube can be optionally equipped with a 4GB or 8GB solid state drive. Since this unit is so compact it includes a custom heatsink and heatpipe technologies to thermally manage its fanless operation.

Some of the SuperCube's other features include Via Unichrome Pro AGP graphics with Mpeg-2 decoding acceleration, 4 USB 2.0 ports, VIA Vinyl 6 channel audio, installed Windows XP Pro OS.

The SuperCube has a 15 pin VGA connection, a 10/100 LAN port, and a 12V DC power input.

VarTech’s UltraCube rugged small form-factor computer excels in harsh environments where others fail including vehicles and vessels. It is fan-less, vent-less and is fully sealed on five of its six faces. It is engineered to be dust, rain and splash resistant. An optional extended hood for the connections face is available for additional rain and splash protection.

The system consists of an ultra efficient 1.0GHz VIA processor. Equipped with a vehicle grade wide DC voltage input range from 6V to 36V, advanced voltage plane detection and low battery detection-shut-off features, the UltraCube is an ideal solution for rugged outdoor mobile applications. Powered by a cool running energy efficient processor with on-chip encryption and SSE2 / SSE3 support, the UltraCube fulfills all your on road computing needs with integrated hardware MPEG-2 decoding acceleration.

The UltraCube includes 1GB of system memory, 4 USB 2.0 ports, and installed Windows XP Pro OS. It offers optional upgrades such as compact flash hard drive and a WiFi LAN connection.

VarTech Systems has redesigned several of its VESA mount fully enclosed NEMA 4 and 4X ToughStation computers. The new design of the VTPC150V, VTPC150VS, VTPC170V, and VTPC170VS features a much thinner 5.55" profile. VESA mounting is extremely versitle and a thinner depth profile makes these models valuable space savers.

The VTPC150VS and VTPC170VS models still feature VarTech’s best-in-class NEMA 4X (IP66) stainless steel enclosure. The VTPC150V and VTPC170V models feature a rugged gasket sealed aluminum NEMA 4 (IP65) black powder coated enclosure. The fully enclosed design without any ventilation slots and external fans makes them completely splash-proof and as such achieves NEMA 4/4X (IP65/IP66) protection.

These industrial PCs are equipped with high-contrast, extremely durable industrial TFT displays that guarantee good readability, even under very poor conditions. They are integrated with resistive touch panels which ensure simple operation even with gloves worn. All are ideally designed for factory process automation, pharmaceutical operation, and other rugged environments needing NEMA protection against windblown dust and rain, splashing or hose-directed water, and ice formation. These VESA mount all-in-one computers also operate in temperatures ranging from 0° to 50°C with an optional operational extended temperatures of -20°C using a thermal management system.

These fully sealed computers are equipped with industrial grade TFT LCDs, high performance Intel Pentium CoreDuo 1.73 GHz Processors, 120GB SATA 5400 RPM Hard Drives, 2GB of system memory, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and Windows XP Professional operating system.
