VarTech's new 10.4" VTPC104ECHB is ideally suited for harsh outdoor applications where weather and high ambient lighting is commonplace. This very rugged NEMA 4X(IP66) fully enclosed 1.0 GHz HMI computer system is equipped with a low-powered, high reliability true 800 nits (cd/m2) high-bright LCD engineered with solid state LED backlighting. It has a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and ultra-wide viewing angles (178deg U/D and 178deg R/L). The VTPC104ECHB has extremely wide operational temperature capabilities of -20°C to +55°C with an optional -40°C to 60°C range.

Armor Touch is VarTech’s innovative new touch screen sensor. Advanced materials engineering has produced an incredibly durable and flexible glass/polymer laminate which when combined with conventional resistive technology results in a sensor that overcomes

the profound deficiencies of all other touch sensors available today. The Armor Touch is then optically bonded to the front of the LCD with anti-reflective field & UV protection.

The core computer of the VTPC104ECHB is a single board system with a fanless Intel Celeron M 1.0GHz CPU, 1GB DDR266 SO-DIMM of system memory, a Solid State 8GB hard drive (optional up to to 120GB), and Windows XP Pro operating system. The VTPC104ECHB has 5 sealed and gasket sealed input/output connections including 1 power, 1 RS232, 1 LAN, 1 USB, and another connection of the customer’s choice.

The VTPC104ECHB is housed in a 316 stainless steel, gasket sealed VESA mountable NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure with MIL-STD-810F environmental protection. It has EMI/EMC protection in compliance with FCC Class B (optional MIL-STD-461E available).

Ideal for demanding HMI applications, VarTech's new VTPC104EC is a NEMA 4X (IP66) fully enclosed all-in-one computer with 10.4" LCD and an integrated resistive touch screen. The enclosure is constructed of 316 grade stainless steel with a 100mm VESA mount patern and front bezel steel handles. The LCD is a VarTech 10.4" TFT screen with SVGA (800 x 600) resolution (optional XGA available).

The VTPC104EC is a robust computer system. Powering this fully sealed, ventless system is a fanless Intel Celeron M 1.0GHz Single-Board processor. It is equipped with a 120 GB IDE hard drive and has 1GB of DDR266 SO-DIMM System Memory. It comes complete with Windows XP Pro operating system.

VarTech's Armor Touch is a new touch screen technology ready to handle extreme abuse in applications such as the battlefield, public kiosks that are prone to vandalism, systems deployed into heavy engineering or mining environments, general ruggedized equipment, etc.

VarTech's Armor Touch is an ultra rugged, highly accurate touch screen. Armor Touch VarTech’s innovative new touch screen sensor. Advanced materials engineering has produced an incredibly durable and flexible glass/polymer laminate which when combined with conventional resistive technology results in a sensor that overcomes the profound deficiencies of all other touch sensors available today. Engineered with a thermally and chemically strengthened laminated glass substrate, this unique touch

screen overlay is then optically bonded to the front of most VarTech LCD panels. It is integrated with a very durable vacuum deposited anti-reflective optical coating which is designed to meet industry standards such as SAE AMS-2521 and MIL-C-675. With 12 bit resolution, this rugged touch screen technology features resistance to contamination and is unaffected by dirt, moisture, rain, and even harsh cleaning fluids and other noxious substances. Armor Touch has high image stability and is not susceptible to problems caused by high-level short-term variances, axis linearity and drift. The optical bonding process offers an anti-reflective field & UV protection.

The VarTech demo booth was at the ATX / East Pack which was held in New York, NY, June 3-5. On display were many of VarTech's fully enclosed LCD display systems and computer workstations including the newly designed VESA mount NEMA 4X all-in-one models and Vartech's new line of NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X panel PCs.

VarTech's representatives met a lot of wonderful people, many of whom were very interested in implementing our products in their facilities. The East Pack coordinators ran an excelent event and we look forward to next year as well as National Manufacturing Week coming up September 23-25, 2008 where VarTech will be able to display the newly designed XA All-Weather series of ultra rugged, submersible, sunlight readable LCDs as well as VarTech's new sunlight readable NEMA 4X enclosed computers and workstations.
