Unlike many of our competitors, VarTech Systems does not “repackage” commercial grade off-the-shelf LCD monitors meant specifically for use within very controlled environments (home, office, retail), but rather individually sourced or company designed modules engineered especially for use throughout harsh industrial applications which will be used constantly 24/7/365.

Improvements and New Features for the CrystalVue LCD series:

Sunlight Readability

1. The integration of the latest Light Emitting Diodes (LED) instead of traditional CCFL backlights which:
• Provides a no risk scenario of backlight hard failure;
• Provides an LED array allowing for light-source redundancy;
• Are virtually instant on with little or no “warm-up” common with traditional CCFL backlights;
• Superior electrical to light efficiency allows our LED backlit LCDs to provide sunlight readability while consuming significantly less power than that of traditional CCFL backlit panels;
• Provides for improved shock & vibration protection and improved brightness uniformity over CCFL backlights;
• Provides far greater backlight life expectancy, over 70,000 hours.
2. An innovative advancement to the optical stack;
3. Advancements to recycling of what would be wasted off axis light and then redirecting light towards the viewer;
4. Advancements to the reflecting and recycling polarized light which under normal circumstances 50% of the backlight output would have been absorbed into the LCD and subsequently wasted;
5. The use of a multilayer, ultra-high reflectivity, mirror-like optical enhancement film that is used as a very efficient light guide and cavity reflector with a reflectivity of 98.5% across the visible spectrum which provides a brighter more efficient display;

7. Far more efficient use of ambient light;
8. Greater optimized balance between brightness and reflection ratio;
9. VBOND – VarTech’s unique proprietary optical bonding process is now STANDARD – benefits include:
• The best reduction of ambient light washout compared with that of any other commercially available enhancement technology;
• Significantly improves reflective light loss;
• Offers superior ruggedization by enhancing the display durability under vibration and shock extremes;
• Increases extrinsic contrast ratio significantly;

VarTech's new UL-1604; UL-60950 Certified and CSA 213; CSA-60950 Certified all-in-one fully sealed NEMA 4X computer/lcds and panel mounted computers insure intrinsic safety in Class 1/Division 2 areas where explosive or flammable gasses or vapors could possibly exist. Both the fully sealed and panel mount models are available with 10.4", 15.0", 17.0", and 19.0" LCD screen sizes, all with integrated touch screens.

VarTech Systems goes beyond UL60950 testing to achieve UL 1604 certification. UL 1604 certification assures safe operation in areas where potentially explosive or flammable substances may be present.

UL 1604 is a higher-level certification awarded only to information technology products that are already UL 60950-compliant. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) assures that products meeting its UL 1604 standard can be safely operated where specific potentially flammable or explosive materials may be present. To earn UL 1604 certification, VarTech computers are tested by Nationally Recognized Testing Labs (NRTLs) to meet six basic criteria: spark ignition, temperature rating, warning markings, I/O mechanical integrity, water ingress and dust penetration testing.

VarTech will soon release new All-in-One, NEMA 4 (IP65) and NEMA 4X (IP66), fully-enclosed computers with an 8.4" LCD and integrated resistive touch screen. These newly released models include the very high bright sunlight readable VTPC084VSHB and VTPC084VHB models with 1500 nit brightness ideally suited for harsh outdoor applications where weather and high ambient lighting are commonplace. The standard models VTPC084VS and VTPC084V models have 650 nit brightness which is three times brighter than typical commercially available LCDs.

VarTech's 8.4" LCD/computers save valuable space with a VESA mount configuration (100mm) and the fully enclosed design without any ventilation slots or external fans makes them completely splash-proof and so achieves NEMA 4X/4 (IP66/IP65) protection. These industrial PCs are equipped with SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, high-contrast, extremely durable industrial TFT display that guarantees good readability, even in degraded conditions. They are integrated with resistive touch panels which ensure simple operation even with gloves worn. These models are ideally designed for factory process automation, pharmaceutical operations, and other rugged environments needing NEMA protection against windblown dust and rain, splashing or hose-directed water, and damage from ice formation. Standard are operational temperature from 0°C to 60°C (-20°C optional).

The new models feature a resistive touch screen, an Intel® Atom™ N270, 1.6 GHz Processor, 2 GB of system memory, and a 160GB SATA hard drive.

The VTPC084VS and VTPC084VSHB are NEMA 4X rated with 316 grade stainless steel fully sealed enclosures. The VTPC084V and VTPC084VHB are NEMA 4 rated and have a fully sealed, black powder coated, machined aluminum enclosure.
