VarTech's Sales and Marketing office in Baton Rouge was crippled for nearly a week after Hurricane Gustav came through on September 1st. Winds up to 91mph damaged buildings, knocked down trees and caused 100% power outages for the Baton Rouge area in a matter of an hour. VarTech's power was out until Monday, Sept. 8th at about 11am. VarTech's manufacturing facilities are in Pennsylvania and North Carolina so shipping and production operations were not effected.

VarTech’s sales office is now fully operational. Our sincere thanks goes out to all of those VarTech customers who experienced communication delays with VarTech, but continued to work with us during this troubled time.

VarTech Systems has released a new line of 10.4" panel mount computers with NEMA 4 (IP65) and NEMA 4X (IP66) protection ratings as well as fully sunlight readable models. VarTech designs, manufactures, and supports all of their panel PC's right here in the US where they have three large facilities in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana.

VarTech's 10.4" Panel PC's are a high powered yet space saving computer solution. These all-in-one computers included resistive touch screens for true stand alone operational functionality.

Integrated with a high powered Pentium processors and 1GB of system memory, the new 10.4" panel PCs from VarTech are high performance computer systems.

The new sunlight readable high bright 10.4" panel PC models are the VTPC104PHB (NEMA 4 front bezel) and the VTPC104PSSHB (NEMA 4X stainless steel front bezel). These units ultilze an LED enhanced LCD panel with an impressive 800 nits of screen brightness. They are also optically bonded for extreme contrast enhancement in direct sunlight as well as higher shock and vibration tolerance. These units are also equipped with VarTech's hardened ArmorTouch touch screen system.

The VTPC104P is the new NEMA 4 rated model with a black powder coated, sealed front bezel. NEMA 4 protection on the front bezel means this model is protected from splashing water and airborn dust and dirt particles.

The VTPC104PSS is the new NEMA 4X rated model with a high grade 316 stainless steel front bezel. A NEMA 4X rating protects it from hose directed water and airborn dust and dirt particles and adds corrosion protection.

The MightyCube Mobile Form Factor Computer is the latest member of VarTech's "Cube" line of rugged industrial computers. The MightyCube operates in extreme temperatures of –40°C to 85°C depending on the component configuration. It is a fanless system with expandable I/O options.

The MightyCube's “no compromise” design optimizes the electrical, thermal and mechanical components for maximum reliability. The result is a powerful, yet fanless system in a rugged enclosure. Even the system in its most basic configuration provides the processing power, extended power supply range, memory and I/O for most applications. Combined with Linux or Windows® using VarTech’s OS Embedder kit, the MightyCube becomes a core component, ready to program for a foundation for a wide variety of mobile applications. Drivers for all hardware are included. The PC architecture uses Linux, Windows® and other popular operating systems. VarTech has OS Embedder kits for easy installation of these operating systems.

Standard I/O includes dual Ethernet, quad USB 2.0, dual serial, CRT & LCD video, and digital I/O. Because the MightyCube is fully functional out–of–the–box, additional I/O such as GPS, analog, GPRS, video camera can be readily added via PC/104, PC/104–Plus and XBLOK modules. An option panel can be easily removed and punched for custom annunciators, connectors and controls. Generated heat is efficiently channeled directly to the case to help prevent internal hot spots. The MightyCube mobile computer operates in ambient temperatures from –40°C to 85°C, depending upon the processor speed, user options and mass storage devices.

Due to increased product development and production levels, VarTech has expanded its new state of the art manufaturing facility in Horsham, Pennsylvania by 6000 square feet to a total of 24,000 square feet.

The increased floor space will help provide even more efficient production flow for all aspects of VarTech's operations of engineering, development, production and assembly as well as allowing for an increase in VarTech's manufacturing and development workforce.

This brings the total operational square footage for VarTech Systems to 77,000 sqaure feet..
