PowerCube – Small Form Factor Powerful Intel Pentium Duo Core
Based Industrial Computer VarTech
Systems has recently released the PowerCube,
which is the most powerful small form factor industrial computer
in VarTech's product line-up. Engineered with the latest technology
including Intel’s new 1.73 GHz Pentium Duo Core processor,
the PowerCube
delivers the ultimate in high performance rugged small form factor
computing. The PowerCube is designed with a standard 2GB of memory and a multitude of I/O ports. Impressive features, such as a DVD/CD-RW drive, built-in gigabit LAN, USB and Firewire are included in the base system. The PowerCube has been engineered with a vibration dampened, high performance Scorpio series hard drive to enable operation in the harshest environments. The Scorpio HDD delivers best-in-class performance with low power requirements comparable to much slower notebook drives. In addition, you'll get the quietest 2.5-inch drive on the market with real-time data protection technology to help keep your data safe along with low power consumption that yields increased reliability. ShockGuard technology is utilized to protect the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shock. DuraStep Ramp technology locks the heads in a secure position away from the disk to provide another layer of protection when the drive is not in use. Utilizing the most technologically advanced material available, the drive can perform a minimum of 600,000 load/unload cycles without contamination - up to twice the performance of its competitors. Additional vibration dampening bushing protection has been integrated on the exterior of the drive to provide the most advanced form of protection available. The rugged all aluminum small form factor enclosure measures about the size of a hard cover novel yet surpasses performance of most desktop computers and notebook PCs. Multiple mounting options are available including an anti-shock and anti-vibration mobile mounting system, an ideal choice for rugged outdoor mobile applications. The compact size of the vehicle mount computer is smaller than a typical notebook computer, allowing for concealed installation in any available mounting location. The

Extended Operational Temperature Chassis Mount LCD Display Systems
with ThermalCare Technology
VarTech Systems has expanded its industry-leading portfolio of innovative
liquid crystal display (LCD) solutions for industrial applications.
VarTech introduces three new amorphous-silicon, thin-film transistor
(TFT) LCD based Open-Frame Chassis Mount Display Systems. Developed
by VarTech Systems, these new monitors meet the demanding requirements
of the industrial marketplace by providing wide operating temperature
ranges, wide viewing angles and high resolutions. The
three robust LCD display systems introduced today offer exceptional
native resolution capabilities (XGA 1024 x 768), high contrast ratios,
and boast a wide operating temperature range of -30 degrees Celsius
to +70 degrees Celsius. VarTech’s unique optical bond eliminates reflection from the two internal layers and utilizes an adhesive that matches the index of refraction of the flat panel and the overlay. As well, the outer surface of the protective window is chemically treated with anti-reflecting coatings which matches the front surface of the glass with the index of refraction of air. This combination reduces the total reflection of the display and front cover glass to less than 2% of the ambient light. A reduction of reflection of this level, all but eliminates reflective loss in most ambient lighting conditions. With reductions of this level, displays with 250 to 450 nits of brightness (cd/m2), traditionally not viewable in direct sunlight, will now be readable in very high ambient brightness or indirect lighting conditions. VBOND also removes all air gaps, therefore reducing the number of internal reflecting surfaces which can lead to significant degradation of the LCD’s optical performance. All
internal system circuit boards are conformal coated for added protection
